A New Mazda Engine is in the Works: The Skyactiv-Z
Driven to Innovate
There’s a new Mazda engine on the way: the Skyactiv-Z. Mazda is streamlining its lineup of internal combustion engines, and we can’t wait to see this latest innovation. This four-cylinder gas engine is set to replace the Skyactiv-G and Skyactiv-X, and is set to release in 2027. We don’t know all the details just yet, so we’ll be waiting as patiently as we can to learn more.
What we do know is Mazda is planning to use the lambda one combustion method to “achieve high thermal efficiency by realizing super lean burn combustion over a wide range from low to high rpm, to provide excellent environmental performance and driving performance”. This method will burn all of the fuel, which in turn will reduce the release of dangerous pollutants. We are so inspired to see the commitment to progress in environmentally-friendly offerings. Mazda plans to use the new engine in their cars in the U.S. and European markets, and the engineers are working diligently to ensure the engine meets the EPA’s Tier 4 standards and the Euro 7 regulations.
Although Mazda is simplifying its internal combustion engine lineup, they haven’t forgotten about the rotary engine. The brand is still committed to creating rotary engines that comply with the emissions standards. It has been a challenge, but they’ve been making steady progress.
Mazda is known for making reliable cars that are fun to drive, and we have no doubt that this new engine will continue that legacy. With the Skyactiv-Z engine on the horizon, we can’t wait to see what other incredible advancements Mazda has in store for us. We are thrilled to see constant innovation and work toward an exciting and sustainable future. We’ll be eagerly waiting for more updates and counting down until its release date. The future looks bright, and we’re excited to be a part of it with Mazda.
