The CX-30 Is a Great Car at a Great Price!

Here at McDonald Mazda, we love a good crossover. Today, we want to highlight the 2023 CX-30 as an excellent option in this category. Honda’s 2023 HR-V may rival the model, and we won’t deny it’s a suitable vehicle, but we still believe the Mazda is superior. Let’s talk about why.

Drive

Regarding the drive and power, the CX-30 surpasses the HR-V. The CX-30 can go from 0-60 mph in 7.5 seconds. The base level CX-30 operates on a T 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and provides a horsepower of 191. The ride also features a six-speed automatic transmission. In addition, Colorado drivers will be happy to know that the Mazda comes standard with all-wheel drive, which is especially useful in difficult driving conditions.

If you’re looking for something with a little more kick, the Mazda also offers a 2.5 turbo-four engine, which achieves a horsepower of 250 and can go from 0-60 mph in just 5.8 seconds. The HR-V, on the other hand, falls more in line with your classic SUV, providing only one powertrain option, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, and standard front-wheel drive. Equipped with the standard configuration, the model can reach 60 mph in 11 seconds and has a horsepower of 158. In terms of the drive quality, you’ll be happier with the CX-30, especially since it offers more at its base level.

Fuel Economy

Mazda stepped up its game with the fuel economy for the latest iteration of the CX-30, which achieves a 26-city and 33-highway mpg rating. While Honda excelled in past years, it failed to improve the way Mazda did. The base engine of the HR-V has a rating of 26-city and 32-highway mpg on front-wheel drive and 25-city and 30-highway with all-wheel drive.

Options

It’s always nice to have choices! The CX-30 offers much more than the HR-V, with seven trim levels to choose from. The trim options are the base 2.5 S, 2.5 S Select, 2.5 S Preferred, 2.5 S Carbon Edition, 2.5 S Premium, 2.5 Turbo Premium, and the 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus. On the other hand, the Honda only comes in three trim levels: the LX, Sport, and EX-L. The variety of trim levels on the Mazda allows more drivers to find their perfect ride.

Price Point

The Mazda may cost more because it outshines the Honda in the above categories. The CX-30 has a lower MSRP of $22,950 compared to the HR-V’s $23,800. When you get all these awesome perks at such an impressive price, it’s easy to see why we would go with the Mazda.

These are a few reasons why we believe the 2023 CX-30 is better than the 2023 HR-V. If you want to learn more about the CX-30 or another Mazda vehicle, contact us today or schedule a test drive at McDonald Mazda West. We’ll see you there!
