Here’s What’s Covered By Your Mazda Warranty
We Have You Covered
When buying a new vehicle, we know you want to ensure that it’s protected. That’s why we offer our Mazda warranty. But what exactly is covered under your warranty? We are here to break that down for you! Read on to learn more.
Every new Mazda comes with a limited warranty. This warranty will cover repairs that are needed within the first few years of your ownership. Beyond the coverage offered with your warranty, Mazda also offers 24-hour Emergency Roadside Assistance under specific warranties. So what are the specific warranties offered? Let’s break that down even further:
New-Vehicle Limited Warranty
First of all, Mazda has their New-Vehicle Limited Warranty. This option covers defects in materials and workmanship in all parts for 36 months, or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. This warranty is transferable and is included in any new Mazda vehicle that is sold and serviced here in the United States.
Powertrain Limited Warranty
Next up, we have the Powertrain Limited Warranty. The period for defects in materials and workmanship in the powertrain components supplied by Mazda is 60 months, or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. This warranty is also transferrable during the warranty period. Once again, it applies to all Mazda vehicles sold and serviced in the U.S.
RX-8 Rotary Engine Core Limited Warranty Extension
Good news! The warranty coverage on rotary engine core components for all RX-8 vehicles has been extended to 8 years from the original start date of the warranty, with a 100,000-mileage limitation. The components covered by this warranty are rotary housing and internal parts and internal seals and gaskets.
24/7 Emergency Roadside Assistance
This comes in handy when your vehicle is not drivable due to a warranted part failure, within the period of your New-Vehicle Limited Warranty. In this case, a towing vehicle will be covered to the nearest Mazda dealer. This also goes for the other warranties and failure of the elements they cover, within the time of warranty.
Parts and Accessories Warranty
There are also warranties available for parts and accessories. This warranty covers Mazda’s genuine new or remanufactured parts (not including battery) and accessories purchased from or installed by a Mazda dealer. Like the other warranties, this one can be further broken down:
1966 and Newer
This covers vehicles for 12 months, or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first after the date of the part installation. It also covers labor. In order to use this warranty, the customer will need to provide the repair order from the authorized Mazda dealership.
Brake Parts Warranty
Mazda also has a brake pads warranty, which includes lifetime coverage for all Mazda Genuine Parts or Value Products by Mazda Brake Pads and Shoes, given the original purchaser of the replacement owns the vehicle they were originally installed in. The customer is responsible for the installation charges. Your local dealer will have a complete run-down of the rights and limitations of your warranty.
Mazda offers many tiers of warranties for different aspects of your vehicle’s needs. In addition to those listed above, there are also available warranties for high-performance battery replacement and accessories. You can see your Warranty Information Booklet for a more comprehensive look at what your coverage includes.
